Meetings

We have weekly Tuesday meetings and a regular monthly weekend meeting (run over the whole of the last weekend of each month).

If you wish to know the meeting location, please contact member andyg (geekscape) or Twitter direct message @geekscape

This arrangement is an interim measure, until we’ve established an independent workshop that provides 24 by 7 access.

Our Google Calendar shows all of our planned meetings. Meetings will be removed from the calendar if they are cancelled. You will also see the next 4 upcoming meetings from the calendar listed on the right side of our page. They’re taken directly from the Google Calendar so should be considered authoritative.

Many people at the meeting will be on the CCHS IRC channel (#cchs on freenode.net), so if you can’t come (or a meeting isn’t running), you can discuss projects and ideas there.

Monthly weekend meetings

These whole weekend meetings provide enough space, time and organization to spend significant effort on your project or one of the HackerSpace collaborative projects, e.g. Class G rocket or the CNC milling machine.  A number of organized or informal project sessions and tutorials are also held, e.g. getting started with Arduino.  Many more HackerSpace members are able to attend these weekend meetings.

If you have a particular topic or domain area of interest you like covered, please feel free to make suggestions (or even better, volunteer to be the champion) via the email discussion list or on the upcoming monthly meeting page (see link above).

Currently, these meetings are held in a garage in Camberwell. The HackerSpace provides work space (desk / chairs), power, networking and a modest collection of tools, diagnostic equipment and most importantly … smart, motivated people.

Tuesday evening sessions

These smaller, shorter sessions are intended to provide continuity between the larger monthly weekend meetings.  These sessions are typically held in Camberwell, but may occur at other member’s residences (often when they are hosting a session in a particular area of expertise).
